Our NYSCF Innovator community of NYSCF Research Institute scientists and career grant recipients has already developed over 20 therapies that are in or moving toward clinical trials for chronic and degenerative diseases, including ALS, cancer, Parkinson’s disease, and macular degeneration.

At the NYSCF Research Institute in Manhattan, we have more than 90 biologists, engineers, and computer scientists collaborating under one roof to turn basic research into life-saving treatments as quickly as possible.

We developed and built a fully-automated robotic system for creating hundreds of stem cell lines at a time – The NYSCF Global Stem Cell Array. This unprecedented scale allows us to represent the diversity of large patient populations, which is essential for understanding why diseases affect us differently and identifying which drugs will work best for each patient.

Because of private philanthropy, we have the freedom and flexibility to pursue the most promising science. We tackle the high-risk, high-reward research that traditional funding cannot or will not support, and which, if successful, will drive a paradigm shift that advances the entire field.

At the New York Stem Cell Foundation Research Institute, our “team science” approach recognizes that curing disease requires a multitude of efforts. Since our inception in 2005, NYSCF has catalyzed advances in stem cell research and built paradigm-changing technologies.
